Handwriting Feature Unreliable

Ive been using this app to get the definitions and readings for kanji I dont know, but have been having a rough time with it. The handwriting feature sounds great but its wrong more often than not. You get tired of it if it takes ten tries to write even the simplest kanji. The component search is more efficient even though it takes a long time, but it doesnt have all the radicals...
Im not going to give it a low mark since it looks like it does well in other departments, but it really isnt being that useful to me...
